Dr. Abdullah-Al-Mamun

Dr Abdullah-Al-Mamun is the Secretary General of the South Asian Association of Japanese Studies (JSASA). He is also an associate professor and the chairman of the Department of Japanese Studies, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh and the executive director of the Pan-Asia-Research Institute (PARI). He did his PhD in International Development Cooperation and Postgraduate Certificate (Research Methods) from the University of Huddersfield, the UK. Dr Mamun is an MBA and he completed a Certificate in Law from the University of Northumbria, the UK. His areas of specialisation are aid and development effectiveness, international development cooperation, FDI, effectiveness of Japanese ODA in Bangladesh, and Japanese society and culture. He has years of professional experience in working with international entities such as USAID, UNDP, UNCDF, JICA, JETRO and Mitsubishi Corporation, and government and domestic organisations such as ERD, NAPD, Cabinet Division, BRAC, ASA and Asiatic Society for research, training report preparation and policy evaluation. Dr Mamun is the co-author of three books and he published a number of research articles in national and international journals.
